Purpose of the Role
Join the Technical Conformity team as the Vehicle Safety Certification Engineer where you'll be working with cross functional teams throughout the Business, coordinating, reporting, documenting and delivering vehicle safety approvals as required by project milestones, gateway deliverables and by the Functional Manager. Your main responsibilities include;
- Ensure thorough compliance of Bentley products with worldwide automotive safety regulations
- Identify, plan, commission and witness applicable test work
- Liaise with international type approval bodies
- Advise the business on the certification of Bentley products
- Produce and maintain product certification documents
About the Team
Engineering Technical Conformity ensure compliance of all Bentley vehicles with applicable legislation to enable their sale. In addition, we safeguard the end customer and the Bentley brand by ensuring errors in the design and development process are prevented from becoming consequential.
About you – Skills and Experience
The ideal applicant will have a background in delivery of automotive certification or have experience in a compliance role from an alternative relevant industry. Proven ability to manage large volumes of technical data combined with an ability to understand and solve complex and challenging technical issues. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- An understanding of Type Approval and/or self-certification and/or legislative processes
- Sound knowledge of automotive regulations
- Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience of building strong relationships with both internal and external customers and suppliers, to ensure successful delivery of business objectives
- Have the ability to prioritise work to ensure project targets are achieved
- Be able to work on own initiative, taking responsibility for planning workload from high-level milestones
- A methodical approach, eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience of vehicle diagnostics/vehicle safety systems would be beneficial to support external/overseas test work
- Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access)
