Purpose of the Role
Join our Connected Car team as a Technical Manager – Connected Car Features, where you'll drive the development and lifecycle of connected vehicle features, infrastructure, and enablers. Your role will span from defining technical specifications and selecting development teams to leading project execution, ensuring seamless releases, optimizing performance, and managing product retirement. Reporting into the Functional Manager – Architecture and Core Services your main responsibilities include;

• Deliver Connected Car services, infrastructure, and technical enablers in line with business requirements.
• Support R&D Feature Owners by providing the necessary technical enablers and infrastructure.
• Manage outsourced suppliers and partners from concept through implementation.
• Develop, maintain, and release technical documentation for assigned services.
• Lead cross-functional teams to launch services, troubleshoot issues, and drive solutions.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and ensure service relevance.
• Oversee risk management, incident troubleshooting, and continuous service improvements.
• Utilize test equipment to validate deliverables, reproduce issues, and verify fixes.

The Connected Car team is part of the R&D Electrical/Electronic Engineering department and the vision of the Connected Car team is to provide our customers with a range of features and services that make their Bentley relationship the most rewarding, convenient and magical connected experience by integrating the vehicle into their personal ecosystem and meeting the Beyond100+ strategy.
 

About you – Skills and Experience

• Qualified engineer or IT specialist with experience in IoT or Automotive technical product development.
• Engineering, IT degree or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of IoT technologies, backend systems, and connectivity solutions.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams internally and externally.
• Experience working in an agile environment and using the Jira suite.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment for validation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

• Proficiency in German is advantageous.
