Purpose of the Role
Join the Whole Vehicle Engineering – Virtual Vehicle team as the Technical Manager - Virtual Vehicle where you’ll drive virtual product development for the next generation of Bentley vehicles, maximising the impact of new and existing virtual vehicle technologies (FEA, CFD, AI etc) to accelerate delivery.  This role is key in moving Bentley towards a zero physical prototype goal - focussing on finding and resolving issues early through virtual methods.  Reporting into the  Lead for Virtual Vehicle your main responsibilities include;

• Planning and leading the virtual vehicle activities for vehicle projects
• Working cross functionally to implement new capability and ways of working to find issues earlier and reduce physical prototypes
• Ensuring the necessary input data is available, at the required quality to ensure the required accuracy of the virtual vehicle activities
• Reviewing CAE results and ensuring the vehicle project has the correct CAE information at the right time
• Tracking the progress of the virtual vehicle activities and reporting risks and issues when they are identified
• Co-ordinating and leading key programme virtual vehicle events

About you – Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have proven ability in automotive product development, including knowledge of CAE techniques and methodology. Along with experience in the following areas:

• Strong technical project management experience
• A deep understanding of the automotive product development process
• Whole vehicle knowledge and an understanding of what information is required at different stages of the vehicle development process
• Knowledge of both conventional and emerging CAE tools and techniques e.g. CFD, FEA, AI and ML etc
• The ability to lead a team of people without direct responsibility
• An Engineering/relevant degree or equivalent relevant experience

The following would also be beneficial:

• Previous experience of Virtual Series / managing virtual development
• Strong working knowledge of Teamcenter or equivalent PDM system
• Proficiency in German language
