About the role

Bentley is introducing Systems Engineering as the underlying methodology for developing future vehicles. To support this change a team of systems engineering experts is being created. This team will support the vehicle project teams in applying systems engineering.


Systems engineering is a branch of engineering that enables the development of complex products. It provides methods and processes that develop products through the management of a vehicle’s constituent systems.


We are seeking a Requirement Management Technical Manager (Systems Engineering) to join the business on a permanent basis at our Crewe site. Reporting to the Head of Whole Vehicle Engineering Systems, the Requirement Management Technical Manager will lead the introduction of requirement management at Bentley.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the deployment of requirement management at Bentley; process, methods, tools and organisation
  • Improve the process that leads to the generation of product technical requirements
  • Support the vehicle development teams in requirement creation and best practises
  • Establish ways of working to ensure high quality requirements


About the person

The successful applicant will be an established Requirement Manager who is a subject matter expert with experience gained from an automotive, manufacturing, aerospace or defence environment. The role offers the scope to become an integral key contributor towards Bentley’s implementation of systems engineering processes. You will be a good communicator that can influence across the levels to gain buy in for business critical project decisions and support the change journey throughout. 


You will demonstrate:

  • Requirement Management knowledge and experience – you will be a subject matter expert in the field of Systems Engineering
  • Experience of deploying systems engineering methodologies into a brownfield environment 
  • A focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience of deploying IT tools to the user community
  • Experienced in leading people through the change process
  • Awareness of product development processes for a complex product


This role will also have responsibilities for the systems engineering verification and validation engineering processes
