Purpose of the Role
Join the Energy Systems team as the System Team Leader – Thermal Management where you’ll be responsible for the end to end development of a level 3 vehicle system and its attributes. The role has to define, control and ensure the delivery of all relevant project milestones for the system. Reporting into the Functional Manager – Thermal Management your main responsibilities include;
- Define and control required technical content to achieve agreed specifications with support from feature owners
- Responsible for a complete level 3 system connected timing plan, with interdependencies of the level 4 sub-systems defined and risks / synergies managed
- Report the defined Product Emergence Process requirements and lead the risk and countermeasures associated with these e.g. KPIs, KPMs, Timing Plans
- Support the Attribute Process where relevant to the level 3 system, ensuring the relevant cross-functional stakeholders are integrated
- Lead technical resolution with other Level 3 System-Team Leaders where conflicts exist across the systems
About the Team
The Energy Systems Department in Electrical & Electronic Engineering delivers the energy platform for our conventional and electric drive products. We develop low (12V), medium (48V), and high voltage (~400V+) systems, functions (including energy management of the buses), and components. Also part of the team is Thermal Management Electronics (including HVAC systems) which control the cooling of the electric drive components and also as high power consumers; we have the full envelope of energy management and cooling control in one team. The work we do is central to Bentley’s Beyond 100 Strategy, delivering the architecture, hardware, and software to power our PHEV and future BEV products.
About you – Skills and Experience
- Proven track record of successful deliveries of vehicle systems/ features or as Project Manager of vehicle projects
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead a team through problem resolution activities
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of self-motivation
- An Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Extensive Systems Engineering experience
- Significant and advanced knowledge of requirements management
