Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Contract: Full time – Permanent

Location: Pyms Lane, Crewe, CW1 3PL with flexible hybrid working (normally 80% onsite / in supplier with consideration for production working hours)

Purpose of the Role
Join the Quality team as the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer where you'll be responsible for aspects of the supplier quality in series including planning and leading supplier quality activities to ensure the suppliers meet our standards. With a keen focus on time, cost and quality you will play a key role in meeting annual targets year after year. Reporting into the Supplier Quality Launch Leader your main responsibilities include;

• 8D management including coaching team members and suppliers
• Analyse, manage and communicate problems and risks throughout the maturation process
• Motivate and influence others, including colleagues, management, & suppliers
• Lead technical problem solving activities
• Critically evaluate and approve supplier deliverables
• Share and implement lessons learnt, and drive improvements to meet targets
• Supporting factory based problem solving activity eg “Go-Gemba”
• Creating status reports and presenting in business forums

You will represent the team in both the factory and field setting as we work towards the Beyond100 goals in the dream factory by developing new and higher standards of supplier performance and management.

As part of Quality Steering Field and Series Parts our team gives great opportunities to work with the broader factory and field teams on topics with a direct and observable impact on the business KPI’s every day and all year long.

About you – Skills and Experience

• A broad knowledge of Automotive process and product
• Experience of using Quality core tools
• Problem solving skills, including formal approaches (e.g. 8D, six sigma).
• Supplier steering and improvement
• Sampling Series Parts
• MS Suite IT skills
• Driving licence (for supplier visits)
• Data management, Tableau and/or Business Objects experience would be advantageous
