Purpose of the Role
 

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Connected Car and Cyber Security team on a full time permanent basis, at our Crewe campus with hybrid working. Reporting to the Connected Car and Cybersecurity Programme Manager the role is responsible for delivery of connected car features/functionality/services or Cyber Security for a vehicle development.  This includes the introduction of services to new geographic regions and territories.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and execution projects of the plan to time, cost and quality
  • Identify and manage dependencies within the R&D function
  • Working with the product line (vehicle Programme Management) to identify and manage dependencies external to R&D.
  • Manage project change, risks and issues, with timely escalations
  • Deliver to time, cost and quality
  • Clear reporting to director level
  • Manage Supplier relationships both external and VW group

 

About the Team

The Connected Car and product cybersecurity teams are part of the R&D Electrical/Electronic Engineering department, primarily responsible for the connected functionality in the vehicles and the associated backend systems and the cybersecurity of the whole vehicle.
 

About you – Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will be a delivery focused project manager with experience of delivering software centric projects with both embedded and IT software experience in environments where cybersecurity is a critical element.

 

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent project management skills (Prince2 or PMBOK certified)
  • Navigation of project governance in large complex organisations
  • Ability to understand technology issues and communicate effectively with technical engineers
  • Supplier management skills, including software specific suppliers
  • Experience of working in an international environment
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated sector
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • A facts and data lead approach to project management
  • Engineering degree or equivalent is essential (or equivalent experience)
