Purpose of the Role

Join the Manufacturing team as an Operations Manager, where you’ll lead the operational management of production technologies, ensuring quality, budgetary control, and timely product delivery. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Bentley’s manufacturing strategy and supporting our Beyond100+ vision of redefining sustainable luxury. Reporting into the Head of Department, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Driving operational excellence across production, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to build plans.
  • Leading quality improvements including Right First Time (RFT) and Defects Per Vehicle (DPV) performance.
  • Managing significant operational budgets, headcount, and resource planning.
  • Supporting the launch of new products and technologies in line with cycle plans and the Product Emergence Process (PEP).
  • Leading and developing teams, embedding a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and colleague engagement.
  • Acting as a key influencer across the business, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, legislation, and audit standards.

Our Manufacturing Operations team is at the heart of Bentley’s transformation. About You – Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience in a senior Manufacturing or Production management role, ideally within automotive or high-value engineering.
  • Knowledge of paint production processes and materials, paint production process controls, process design, and standardised work methodologies.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills with experience managing large teams across multi shift operations (direct and indirect reports).
  • Experience applying continuous improvement and problem-solving tools in complex environments.
  • Strong financial acumen with responsibility for operational budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence at all levels and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification (Engineering / Manufacturing preferred).
  • High-level Health & Safety training or certification.
