Purpose of the Role
Join the Test & Build Support team within Electrical Engineering as the Integration Engineer – Test & Build Support where you will be responsible for two work streams, integration testing & providing build support to prototype & pre-series build phases. They will be responsible for the test plans, testing and test reports of the electrical systems prior to both integration level and vehicle release, additionally other duties will be required to be supported within the team. The Integration Engineer is the support mechanism for electrical queries from departments around the business. Reporting into the Functional Manager – Test & Build Support your main responsibilities include;

  • Creating and leading the Whole Vehicle Integration test plans for Simulator, Prototype and Pre-Series as well as supporting Series Production vehicles. Ensure the sensitivity of the work is understood and that any vehicle work and movement is performed in line with business security practices
  • Providing a flexible, responsive and professional technical support service to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Group Customers and various other Business Functions. The support expected will be in planning, testing, build, diagnosis, analysis, rectification and Electrical and Electronic system updates
  • Provide and share learning, and act as a problem solving resource to support business objectives. They shall be multi-skilled in application of the role, and operate in a safe and conscientious manner at all times, in line with business health and safety practices
  • Support other areas of team responsibly as and when required, such as CP-Tool database management, integration test support, Electrical Engineering workshop stewardship, Electrical Engineering fleet planning, LabCar/Rig Build, Simulation support and standing in for the Functional Manager when required

 

 

About the Team
The Test & Build Support function is responsible for the testing of each Bentley Integration Level (BIL) and ensuring Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) during the development of Bentley products; as well as being responsible for the build of Simulator, Prototype and Pre-Series vehicles for Electrical Engineering. The function is responsible for the Electrical Engineering Workshop, as well as supporting other areas of the business, which can also include international travel when required. The function offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic role that combines technical knowledge and customer requirements.

 

About you – Skills and Experience

  • We are looking to appoint a multi-skilled Integration Engineer for our Electrical Engineering Department, within Test & Build Support. This position would suit a dynamic individual who thrives on challenges and responsibility.

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience in problem solving and continuous improvement techniques
  • Experience with testing methods and processes
  • Ability to quickly learn how to use specialist engineering facilities and equipment, on and off site
  • Experience in Automotive Electrical systems
  • Experience with various automotive diagnostic programmes and reporting tools
  • That you will be working towards or currently hold a degree in a relevant subject matter
