About the role:

As an Industrial Placement Student at Bentley, you will play a key part in Bentley’s journey to creating extraordinary vehicles for our customers. Based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Crewe, you will:

  • Have the opportunity to end to end manage a virtual capability building project with clear delivery into vehicle development,
  • Be challenged to pursue new technologies to enhance processes, methods and tools to help close gaps and increase virtual footprint,
  • Engage with VW Group partners fast tracking virtual capability and establishing collaboration/ jobsplit opportunities in support of vehicle projects,
  • Organise presentations and immersion events focusing on promoting the virtual vehicle strategy mission and vision,
  • Work cross-functionally and in mutli-physics domains, and gain exposure and strong relationships with senior management.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Co-leading Virtual Vehicle Strategy, contributing ideas and innovation trend that align with business strategy,
  • Identifying, developing and deploying new technologies aligned to Virtual Vehicle Strategy that can move the business towards virtual vehicle development,
  • Working with vendors and Group Partners to evaluate new tools and methods to help fast track virtual capability,
  • Owning and project managing virtual capability projects, deploying and measuring their impact (cost, time and quality),
  • Taking the lead in outward communication, creating newsletters and organising promotion events.

 

About the Department:

The Whole Vehicle Physics-Virtual Department is currently in an exciting and fundamental transition to a new feature. Developing digital technology and using it to provide Bentley’s R&D with the tools and methods required to develop vehicles fit for the future.

We work cross-functionally in various physics domains and pursue new and exciting technologies including AI & ML and X-in-the-loop platforms, this will help you will gain a real insight into the way Bentley Motors manages vehicle product data.

 

What we are looking for:

The successful candidates will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in the following degrees: Mechanical, Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering.

  • Being tenacious and resilient, but also adaptable to the need of others,
  • Good communication and presentation skills,
  • Problem solving, time management and organisational skills.
