Purpose of the Role
Join the R&D- UX/UI department as a Functional Manager- Infotainment Software where you’ll lead on development, delivery and validation across Infotainment and User Interface, spanning Bentley’s entire product range.

 

Reporting into the Head of Department you will be responsible for the delivery of core infotainment software, components, functions and sub functions. Including Smartphone, Software/Validation and general Infotainment on time, to quality and costs. In this role you will be accountable for the overall quality and stability of the Infotainment Software, delivering, validating and reporting on the status to ensure that milestones are met to the standards expected to deliver a luxury User Experience. Responsibilities include;

  • Leadership of a multi skilled team, driving innovation and driving a collaborative culture
  • Creation and maintenance of strategic test plans for global system validation
  • Delivery of Smartphone, Navigation, Media, telephony and vehicle control functions from specification to sign off
  • Enhancing operation efficiency, creating and management of budget and resources
  • Ideation and methods for new Infotainment development and improvements
  • Business wide reporting of development progress
  • Risk Management – proactively identifying risk that can have an impact on delivery
  • Establish and maintain a close link with all VW Group brands and CARIAD to maximise synergies while delivering high customer impact
  • Selection & alignment of 3rd party partners to facilitate the delivery and objectives of the team

As part of the forward-thinking Research & Development (R&D) department, we are at the heart of driving Bentley's Beyond100+ strategy, focusing on sustainability and cutting-edge technology.

 

Our energetic and nimble team is responsible for crafting luxury UX for Bentley's present and future vehicles, from the initial sketch to the final software delivery. We work across User Interface (UI), graphics, interaction design, interior lighting, sound, displays, switches, antennas, and software. If you're passionate about shaping the future of automotive engineering, our team is the perfect place for you.

 

About you – Skills and Experience

  • Experience delivering complex software projects
  • Understanding of technical differences across world markets and across different automotive companies within car architecture, Software, Electrical and Electronic components and functions
  • A proven understanding and knowledge of Electrical and Electronic Functions and Processes
  • Knowledge of all associated systems and processes linked to product development
  • Process experience from launch to production
  • Effective communicator with a commitment to building positive relationships with other functions
  • Experience networking and building relationships with key suppliers
  • Cross functional experience in the electronic process chain (engineering to aftersales)
  • Ability to lead and motivate a multi skilled team to aligned goals
  • Project and budget delivery in line with business financial targets
  • A related Degree subject or equivalent relevant experience
