Purpose of the Role
As an Engineer – User Identification & Personalisation you will collaborate with the Functional Manager Body Electronics & Functions to deliver our product ambitions and to help shape our Beyond100 strategy.

 

This role will be responsible for the continued development of our product offering in terms of driver profile identification technologies, vehicle smart settings and intelligent vehicle features.

The role also includes ownership and responsibility of:

  • User Identification and Authentication and Authorisation on the vehicle including physical key, MyBentley App and other sensors
  • User personal convenience settings storage, loading and synchronisation which include climate, infotainment, ergonomics, ADAS and more
  • Inhibition of settings and functionality dependant on valet user identification

 

About the Team

As part of the Electrical/Electronic Engineering department sitting within the Research and Development function at Bentley; The Body Electronics & Functions team are responsible for all the electrical and electronic infrastructure and platform onto which the customer facing features are built – including wiring, mechanical integration, embedded computers, and data networking/architecture, and some of the features themselves.


 

About you – Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will ideally be an Automotive Engineer with a broad understanding of vehicle architectures and systems (both Software and electrical) relating to Driver/user identification technologies and vehicle personalisation settings.

 

In Addition to the above you will demonstrate:

  • Good understanding of vehicle architecture and automotive networks & protocols including ECU architecture and CAN/FR/ETH network types
  • Excellent Electrical Problem Solving:
    • SW functional & logical debugging
    • API debugging
    • Wiring & harness debugging
  • Experience with tools such as:
    • Vector CANoe or similar
    • Diagnostic OEM tools
    • Putty or TeraTerm
  • Excellent Project Management, Planning and Reporting
  • Good understanding of Systems Engineering and V-model
  • An engineering degree or equivalent technical experience is required for this role
