Apprenticeship Programme:        

As one of our Bentley apprentices, you will combine practical experience with classroom learning to achieve an Electro-Mechanical Engineering degree (Level 6). You will play a significant part in our business as we continue on this exciting journey to deliver extraordinary customer journeys. Based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Crewe, you will:

About the role:

Working within the Vehicle Motion team, you will develop the best luxury cars in the world under the guidance and support of Chassis Dynamics Systems teams. You will gain invaluable experience collaborating with different business areas and ensuring our product remains the very best.

 

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with test and development teams, through analysis and diagnostics of vehicle data. Assisting with root cause analysis and the integration of calibration files & software,
  • Work with cross-functional teams across R&D to drive innovative solutions to complex automotive development challenges,
  • Create and implement technical analysis models and simulation and post-processing to predict the performance of chassis response systems. Applying these methods to mechanical and mechatronic systems to influence vehicle behaviour (eg. structural strength &durability, elastokinematics, and dynamic response),
  • Design and implement prototype systems, components and methods to test functionality and performance of new developments from concept stages through to production.

 

About the Department:

The Chassis Dynamics Systems department within the Vehicle Motion branch of R&D is responsible to define and deliver lateral and longitudinal performance characteristics key to Bentley DNA. The teams leverage hardware tuning and mechatronic calibration of the complete powertrain and chassis to work in perfect harmony delivering class leading performance in all conditions. You will join a fast paced and cutting-edge development team of around 200 Engineers.

 

What We Are Looking For:

Training Provider Entry Requirements:

University of Warwick Requirements:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above,
  • AAA grades at A level, to include Mathematics and a Physical Science. Applicants with strong profile, but without A level Mathematics will be subject to passing a Maths assessment or
  • BTEC Diploma grade D*D*, with an A grade A level Mathematics, or subject to passing a Maths assessment or
  • BTEC Extended Diploma grade DDD, including two Mathematics units or subject to passing a Maths assessment
  • T Levels: At the moment we don’t accept T levels (this is subject to constant review by the University).

Skill Requirements:

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to demonstrate outstanding IT literacy, proficiency in code and software development is an advantage,
  • Hold a full driving license. Motorsport or performance driving experience is preferred,
  • Have a pragmatic and results-focused mindset,
  • Show willingness to contribute proactively and work within a team environment,
  • Be able to travel internationally at short notice.
