Apprenticeship Programme:
As one of our Bentley apprentices, you will combine practical experience with classroom learning to achieve a BSc in Data Science. You will play a significant part in our business as we continue on this exciting journey to deliver extraordinary customer journeys. Based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Crewe, you will:
- Work with experts who will support your professional and personal development

- Spend 20% of your time learning with an external training provider and 80% of your time gaining hands on experience

About the role:
The role sits within the Quality Function, as part of the Field Quality Data Team. Field Quality is made up of two teams; the Data team, who use all available data sources to identify customer relevant issues, and then the Analysis team who aim to resolve them. The role will involve working with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the department to turn data into actionable insights, and it aims to foster development of a well-rounded data scientist. This could be through the creation of simple dashboards, through to fully automated AI Pipelines applying GenAI. Being part of a growing team, the role offers opportunities for growth and exposure across the VW Group.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Building dashboards for Quality Functions, from gathering stakeholder requirements through to technical delivery.
- Hands-on development of data pipelines, working with tools such as AWS, KNIME and Snowflake.
- Hands on coding and deployment of ML & AI Models.
- Cross-functional working with departments such as Aftersales, Production & Marketing, to gain a rounded exposure.
- Supporting delivery of VW Group data products, with opportunities to travel globally.
- Support with the creation of presentations to deliver to Senior Managers and the Board.
About the Department:
The overall ‘Quality Steering - Field & Series’ team includes the Field Quality, Supplier Quality, Series Improvement and Quality Reliability teams. As such, the role will have exposure to all stages of product maturity, from pre-production through to in-field. Each team is at different levels of data maturity, enabling learning of best practices as well as the ability to immediately apply innovative solutions to personally develop. Joining a small team of data analysts and data scientists, the successful candidate will be coached and mentored by technical experts, allowing application of data science skills in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Keele University:
- Three A-levels at grades BBC, or equivalent such as BTEC Nationals.
- 104 UCAS Points
- Applicants at the start of the apprenticeship must hold a GCSE qualification in Maths at Grade C (4) or an equivalent qualification.
- Applicants aged 16-18 at the start of the apprenticeship must hold GCSE qualifications in English at Grade C (4) or an equivalent qualification.
