UX Infotainment Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineer – Infotainment to join the business on a permanent basis at our Crewe campus (Hybrid working). The Engineer - Infotainment will be responsible for working with suppliers to deliver an module that uses the infotainment system and orchestrates various systems (such as Climate, Audio, Massage, Lighting etc.) to create multi-sensory experiences within the car. The Engineer will be responsible for working with the User Experience team to define the concepts, prove them out with prototypes, then working with the various systems owners to specify & communicate the requirements and following the V cycle through to production.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the UX team to turn their concepts into feasible designs
  • Documenting the user journeys and user stories to get buy-in for the concept
  • Prototyping multi-sensory experiences in a working car
  • Refining concepts with the various stakeholders and system owners
  • Demonstrating experiences for sign-off with board members
  • Communicating designs through SysML diagrams and requirements
  • Project managing suppliers to deliver a finished product
  • System validation & verification

 

About the Person

The successful candidate will be in an Engineering role within automotive with experience of taking a project from concept to production. We are looking for someone who can work with Arduino’s and vehicle networks, to prototype new experiences and then deliver these into production. The role is an amazing opportunity to express creativity through engineering. It would be advantageous if you have experience working with prototyping electronics (RPI/Arduino’s), Android, CAN or similar as well as working with lighting, sound and fragrance systems, however we are happy to consider candidates with different areas of expertise.

 

You will demonstrate:

  • Experience of software development/prototyping
  • Experience working with Vehicle networks
  • Experience of systems engineering & working with requirements
  • Communication skills that can be used effectively across a range of stake holders and suppliers
  • Experience of delivering within Automotive
  • Experience of data collection & analysis tools would be beneficial
  • Baseline knowledge of Psychology would be beneficial
