ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Value Stream Lead, you’ll drive the successful delivery of a complex portfolio of work whilst collaborating with Business Owners up to Board level, being the single point of escalation for Change Delivery, Change Planning and IT Strategy alignment with the Head of IT Strategy and Architecture.
This newly created role is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced individual with a background in directing the delivery of complex projects to be an integral part of our IT Delivery function and to join us on our journey to produce the first Bentley hybrid electric and fully electric vehicles.
This position has responsibility for managing stakeholder expectations and facilitating Value Stream and Governance boards to enable successful delivery.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifying key stakeholders of the assigned portfolio and create a stakeholder management plan which identifies and engages the relevant parties, both internal and external
- Supporting the sponsor to turn the PoaP vision into a set of deliverables and be able to break down ambitious deliverables into delivery tranches of quarterly planning increments (PI’s)
- Delivering portfolio activity in an effective and inspired manner, ensuring that delivery expectations are made clear and that the deliverables are planned, monitored and completed successfully in accordance with agreed time, quality and cost parameters
- Managing the expectations of stakeholders during delivery, highlighting any variances to the original plan and escalating these as needed
- Having overarching sight of the portfolio finances and monitor spend against the approved budget on a monthly basis, showing actual, committed and forecast to completion as part of the portfolio review
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Value Stream Lead, Delivery Manager, Portfolio Manager or similar role, with demonstrable experience planning and prioritising work streams. Additionally, you’ll have strong communication skills and be well practiced in influencing others, as you’ll be working cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of people management with strong leadership skills
- Experience of project management /cross functional delivery including waterfall and agile working, (including set up and running of DevOps) Ideally experience of waterfall to agile transformation and evidence of application of a pragmatic Agile approach.
- Experience of finance control and process management
- An ability to plan, monitor and deliver KPI’s to meet time, quality and cost deliverable
- An ability to communicate strategic and operational messages to all levels
