About the Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technical Expert to join the business on a permanent basis, at our Crewe site. Working side by side with the Production Director, the Technical Expert will provide in depth technical knowledge and guidance, to support and ensure engagement from the leadership team in achieving business objectives.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Accountable for developing and influencing the strategic technical direction.
  • Lead development of new processes and methodologies to enhance business capability and competence.
  • Ability to demonstrate deliverables status at any time with Key Performance Indicators.
  • Responsibility to ensure factual and effective communication is provided at all levels, including within all cross-functional working team
  • Advising and reporting to the Senior Leadership team on opportunities, progress and ROI.


About the Person

The successful applicant will be a subject matter expert or management level, with experience working at a senior level. Automotive or similar engineering industry experience would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:


  • Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to collaborate and influence with others and deliver results through a broad range of stakeholders.
  • A strong attention to detail combined with the ability to problem solve and deliver tangible improvements within a deadline and to budget
  • An understanding of manufacturing department’s deliverables and the supporting functions interdependencies.
  • Project management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise, prioritise and manage multiple projects in parallel
  • You will have excellent organisational skills and a pragmatic and flexible approach to the role.
  • Experience of leading cross-functional teams of people, with the ability to connect internal resources to work collaboratively on projects.
  • You will be proactive, resilient in the face of adversity and act as a role model at all times.
