ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Electronics Software Integration Engineer to join the business on a full time permanent basis, at our Crewe campus working on a hybrid basis. The Electronics Software Integration Engineer role reports to Head of Integration Management and Software Management and supports the Integration of Software, hardware and datasets related to functions and components across the whole vehicle.
Responsibilities include:
- Support in definition, control and optimisation of the overall level of maturity regarding Software related functions and components in vehicle projects.
- Supports technical strategic leadership, in depth technical knowledge and guidance of all dependant functions regarding maturity planning, integration management, configuration management, change and release management.
- Supports achievement of business objectives and technical development when it comes to the Integration management of a certain vehicle project, delivering on time and within budget.
- Support in definition of the Software related functional scopes for new vehicle projects and platforms, taking into account the technical feasibility, cost aspects and market requirements.
- Support in Consolidation of errors and deviations compared to target state across all sensors on the basis of comprehensive defect management for the assigned vehicle projects.
- Support in Configuration and Release of the entire vehicle Software for use in R&D (pre series), in production and in aftersales.
- Optimisation and improvement of all relevant sub-processes, methods and tools.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful applicant will be a delivery focused and experienced Integration Engineer or Electronics Engineer with experience in supporting and delivering the Integration management of Software, hardware and datasets related to functions and components across the whole vehicle.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern vehicle architectures, networking and functions in software and hardware
- Good knowledge of workshop and vehicle production processes
- Knowledge of the product development process (PEP)
- Professional experience in the field of overall vehicle project management and integration as well as functional validation
- Project management and Planning
- Good presentation skills
- Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
- Technical Engineering degree or equivalent is essential (or equivalent experience)
- Associate member of relevant professional institute is desirable
- Good communication skills(German language would be advantageous)
