ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Accounts Payable Lead you’ll own the Accounts Payable Process, providing advice to the business and our suppliers, as well as resolving issues that arise.  Our Accounts Payable team processes approximately 250,000 invoices annually through this process and given the volume, it’ll be the Accounts Payable Lead’s responsibility to drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing changes to the Accounts Payable Process.

This position will have the responsibility of leading a team of 9 people. It’ll be up to the Accounts Payable Lead to set them up for success, by supporting their personal development. 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• To lead the Accounts Payable Team and support the Team in their personal development
• To identify improvements to the Accounts Payable Process and to implement any changes
• Responsibility for the Accounts Payable Process – providing advice to the business and suppliers and resolving issues in the process
• To ensure that suppliers are paid within their agreed terms of payment
• To perform, and ensure compliance to, supplier bank account verification checks
• Generation of department and invoice statistics for review with the Accounts Payable Manager
• Preparation of weekly payment runs in multiple currencies

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience in the role of an Accounts Payable Team Leader.

• Demonstrable experience of leading a team
• Experience of high volume processing with multiple currencies
• Ability to work on own initiative and make decisions
• Evidence of dealing with colleagues at all levels in a Company
• Evidence of leading a team through periods of process and systems changes
• Experienced in automated 3 way match process, manufacturing background is desirable
