About the role


We are seeking an IT Application Analyst to join the business on a permanent basis at our Crewe site (hybrid working is available). Reporting to the Key Account Manager, the IT Application Analyst will be responsible for developing & implementing technical solutions and software as appropriate to Bentley utilising SAP Business One. You will be expected to be the focal point for developing the solution and maintaining the appropriate documentation.


This is an exciting position to join Bentley as we enter our next stage of development of our new offerings-Bentley Hybrid Electric and Fully Electric Vehicles!


Working within our Commercial Team in IT, we are responsible for IT systems and projects covering Sales and Marketing, Finance, Legal, HR and Mulliner.  As well as delivering new projects, we also have responsibility for working with our business partners to shape future roadmaps and define related annual portfolios of work.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysis of business and system processes with a view to identify opportunities to optimise and implement new functionally
  • Solution Design and Implementation - software development including configuration and programming, using specialised skillset.
  • Solution Introduction, incl. migration of software through development environments to production environments.
  • 3rd level system support and problem resolution
  • Liaison between support teams
  • Creating and maintaining the appropriate documentation


About the person


The successful candidate will have gained experience in a role that requires strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills and an understanding of software development, system implementation and rollout. Ideally you will have come from an IT Application Analyst role, IT Developer; Software Developer or Software Engineer position. Preferably, you will have experience in working in an Automotive environment, however we are still keen to hear from candidates from other backgrounds with the required skills and experience. You will also have experience in building strong collaborative and influential relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

You will demonstrate: 

  • Intermediate experience of SAP Business One ERP system and related Purchase to Pay and Quote to Cash processes. 
  • Boyum Usability Pack experience would be a benefit to this role
  • SQL query skills for data retrieval and simple updates, MS-SQL, and SAP HANA
  • Experience in managing and building system interfaces and handling data to ensure integrity, flat file, XML and web services
  • Proven system and process testing experience, ability to create test scripts, carry out system and user acceptance testing and bug writing feedback
