About the role

We are seeking a Project Specialist – Purchasing to join the business on a permanent basis at our Crewe site. The role can offer a hybrid working opportunity with flexible working hours. Reporting to the Purchase Functional Platform Leader, the role is responsible for supporting the senior management with business intelligence information and recommendations to support finding solutions, planning and monitoring of key project objectives to ensure timely and on target delivery, and for ensuring functional deliverables can be met through effective influencing and networking business wide. 


The Purchasing Project Teams ensure a timely delivery at each PEP (product emergence process) milestone for all new projects. They establish a cross brand purchasing strategy to support the VW Group strategy at Bentley. They also plan the tooling investment budget, obtain authorization and maintain budgetary control over the investments. In addition, a critical part of the team is Forward Sourcing planning for new projects as part of Purchase Projects.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for providing and presenting pertinent Project / Cost / Launch / Sourcing information for management decision making
  • Planning and monitoring of functional activities to support delivery of project deliverables and timelines
  • Identification and evaluation of problems and provide recommendations for potential solutions to support achievement of project deliverables
  • Developing wide scope of network across all business functions to enable influencing of work
  • Create strong relationships with internal business stakeholders and Group


About the person

The successful candidate will be in a project management type role currently and be looking to utilise their skills in a different capacity. The role requires an organised team player that has a methodical approach. You will be a good communicator that can network well throughout the business and our group partners. You will use your business acumen skills to contribute towards process improvement topics in a heavily audited environment. Previous experience of project planning and delivery in a program role is required.


You will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrable experience of project management delivery concepts and planning approaches
  • Leadership and communication skills – working cross functionally to gather information and create plans to achieve deliverables.
  • Ability to monitor and influence to ensure program delivery, examples of achieving project milestones within the given time frames
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, identifying facts and information sources
  • Communication and presentation skills up to senior level
