ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Technician – Electrical Integration you will collaborate with the Functional Manager – Test & Build Support to deliver our product ambitions and to shape our Beyond100 strategy.
The Test & Build Support function is responsible for the testing of each Bentley Integration Level (BIL) and ensuring Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) during the development of Bentley products; as well as being responsible for the build of Simulator, Prototype and Pre-Series vehicles for Electrical Engineering. The function is responsible for the EE Workshop, located on CHK, as well as supporting other areas of the business, which can also include international travel when required. The function offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic role that combines technical knowledge and customer requirements.
This role is responsible for supporting Engineering with their development and testing requirements, as well as supporting the Integration and Build Support Engineers. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively performing integration testing and data analysis
- Creating data logger configurations and perform logger installations
- Updating and preparing vehicles for test and drive events (UK and Overseas)
- Providing Electrical Engineering support to Whole Vehicle Engineering and Production during Simulator, Prototype and Pre-Series vehicle build
- Provide Electrical Engineering with support for High Voltage testing during software development
- Support the Fleet Coordinator with vehicle checks, updates and user handovers
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful applicant will be in an engineering role and qualified in Electrical / Automotive Engineering (or equivalent) and have demonstrable skills in electrical diagnostics and fault finding.
- Strong knowledge and experience of using iDEX, ODIS-E, CP-Tool, PIDT and DiagRA
- Experience completing software change management version compares
- Experience working on High Voltage vehicles (HV Level B trained).
- An understanding of electrical integration and able to work in a methodical manner
- Experience of Vector CANoe and analysing networking traces
- The ability to be organised and manage multiple projects/tasks in parallel
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
