Purpose of the Role
Join the Technical Conformity team as the Technical Manager - Product Legislation, focus on Complete Vehicle, Vehicle Electrics/Electronics and Lighting legislation. You'll provide technical and strategic leadership and in depth knowledge and guidance to support and ensure legislative compliance. Reporting into the Head of Product Legislation your main responsibilities include;
- Responsible to monitor, summarise and communicate new/changed legislation for area of responsibility to promote technical compliance, and risk mitigation
- Provide expert knowledge to functional areas
- Responsible to provide legislative interpretation and lead and/or support lobbying activities if required
- Responsible for developing and maintaining related specialist technical and business knowledge
- Actively collaborate with Volkswagen Group, key legislation bodies and technical services
- Responsible for defining compliance strategy for new technologies and legislation
About the Team
Engineering Technical Conformity ensure compliance of all Bentley vehicles with applicable legislation to enable their sale. In addition, they safeguard the end customer and the Bentley brand by ensuring errors in the design and development process are prevented from becoming consequential.
About you – Skills and Experience
- Understanding and application of all required product legislative and environmental requirements
- A Degree in Engineering, Law or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong business acumen and ability to make and influence strategic decisions
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with a commitment to building positive relationships
- German language skills would be advantageous
