ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Technical Manager - Problem Management you will collaborate with vehicle developers and validators to deliver our product ambitions and to shape our Beyond100 strategy.

This role is pivotal in ensuring issues detected during Bentley’s development and validation processes are identified, raised and resolved. The role holder will ensure issues impacting the product release process are measured and resolved, identifying critical topics requiring support, further transparency, Investigation or escalation. 

This position has responsibility for Problem Management across all vehicle projects, supported by an outsource provider. The role holder will report to the Head of Whole Vehicle Quality & Validation (EG/Q) the EG/Q team are responsible for Problem Management, Product Integration, Verification and Validation and Prototype Fleet Management.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Steering of R&D Problem landscape across product portfolio

  • Timely escalation of issues which are outstanding solution / countermeasure

  • Facilitation of Bentley escalation forums, and leading problem solving forums.

  • Ensuring problems are raised in a timely manner, into KPM system and are effectively described and problem resolver defined and agreed

  • Ensuring problem solving effectiveness by monitoring new issues versus previously solved problems

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will be a proven automotive Engineer within an R&D, Launch Quality, or Quality role with experience of Problem resolution, Problem management, or Problem Steering gained from within the automotive sector.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in:                                               

  • Structured Problem Solving Techniques

  • Status Reporting, and Presentation to leadership

  • Project Management

  • Convincing and Asserting

  • Analytical

  • Engineering Degree Qualified or equivalent experience
