About the role:

As an Industrial Placement Student at Bentley, you will play a key part in Bentley’s journey to creating extraordinary vehicles for our customers. Based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Crewe, you will:

  • Gain valuable experience in Vehicle Type Approval and Certification requirements,
  • Gain a good understanding of our fantastic products and cutting edge technology,
  • Understand the key differences between UNECE, EU and GB type approval and Self Certification,
  • Have the opportunity to gain an insight into a number of other roles within the Technical Conformity department, such as Legislation surveillance, Emissions certification, Fleet management, Change management and Product and Environmental conformity.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the planning, preparation and conduct of vehicle safety testing,
  • Generating type approval application documentation on behalf of Bentley,
  • Undertaking conformity checks of first to market production vehicles,
  • Taking ownership for the delivery of market delivery documentation,
  • Working collaboratively with teams in R&D to support the development of approval strategies for Bentley products,
  • Supporting the whole team to achieve the quality objective of ‘right first time’, by peer reviewing documentation prior to release to ensure it is correct.

 

About the Department:

The product certification team is responsible for obtaining the necessary safety related UNECE, EU and GB approvals required to enable sale of our vehicles in Bentley Markets. From Brakes testing, Cyber Security, Electrical Safety to Crash Testing. Working with external Technical Services and test facility providers to compile all of the evidence required to demonstrate compliance with Type Approval legislation.

 

The team also works with market contacts around the world to ensure the relevant compliance evidence is provided to every Bentley market. This enables the sale and registration of our products worldwide.

The wider Technical Conformity department ensures the business is kept up to date with the latest legislative development worldwide, manages cutting edge emission test facilities, stays on top of product hardware and software changes and ensures the business conforms to Product and Environmental requirements throughout its lifecycle.

 

What we are looking for:

The successful candidates will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in the following degrees: Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive Aeronautical Engineering and Environmental Science, Product Law, Compliance and Process Management.
