ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Functional Manager PHEV / BEV Powertrain you will collaborate with the Head of Powertrain Calibration to deliver our product ambitions and to shape our Beyond100 strategy.
This role is responsible for leading, managing and developing a team that ensures both capacity and capability to deliver technical and business objectives to the right quality, on time and within budget for own Engineering area.
Technically responsible through self and team for powertrain Hybrid functions (Betriebstrategy), Range Calculation, Drivability and delivery of similar in BEV product line, ownership of powertrain calibration customer functionality within Bentley.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Outside of projects – together with VW Group partners responsible for the advancement of functionality and service in the context of Bentley’s strategic goals.
- Within projects – delivery of those functions and services to customer release standards within own or others systems and components.
- Ownership of Powertrain Calibration ICE/HYBRID or BEV function and system development and integration.
- People Manager- strong leadership. Providing support, guidance and development of small to medium sized team.
- Project, budget and forecasting responsibility for team / area of control.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be a Functional Manager / Senior Engineer, with experience of Powertrain or Chassis Mechatronics Systems and component development and / or functionality within those systems. You will have good business awareness with the ability to make and influence decisions within business context.
Demonstrable experience of Automotive or equivalent product development in relevant area. UK driving licence and the ability to travel internationally with flexibility is required for the role, proving ground experience would be beneficial.
An engineering degree within Mechanical Engineering Electronics / Mechatronics or equivalent technical experience is required for this role.
- Leadership, effective communication, influencing skills.
- Ability to monitor and plan both project and people KPI’s.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills (self and team).
- Technical background in the area of powertrain calibration leadership, project time-lines, and bespoke processes.
- Experience or appreciation of simulation techniques for calibration development
- Demonstrable experience as People Manager/has strong leadership skills
