About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Architecture and Diagnostics Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis, at our Crewe Campus (Hybrid working). Reporting to the Functional Manager – Electrical Architecture and Diagnostics, the Electrical Architecture and Diagnostics Engineer will support the development of vehicle networks and diagnostic functionalities for all Bentley products.


A key part of this opportunity is to support other functions across the business in analysing and resolving problems with bus communications and diagnostic services.This involves participating in cross-functional working groups, supporting and reporting to individual stakeholders and providing key knowledge of the vehicle networks and diagnostic functionalities for all business areas.


Responsibilities include:

  • Illustrate findings and solutions for a broad spectrum of stakeholders
  • Utilising vehicle bus systems (CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet)
  • Setup and maintenance of vehicle data loggers
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems
  • Wiring/component replacement


About the Person

The successful applicant will be in an Engineering role with an Electrical bias, with proven ability to diagnose and solve problems and the ability to communicate across various levels in different company forums. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Vector toolset knowledge
  • Automotive diagnostic software tools experience (ODIS,IDEX)
  • Understanding of vehicle bus systems (e.g CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet)
  • Experience with System 42
  • German language skills would be advantageous
