About the Role

Bentley Motors are seeking General Purchase Buyers to join the business on a permanent basis at our Crewe site (operating hybrid working). We are interested in hearing from Buyers with experience of purchasing Facilities and Services to support Bentley in its transition to Battery Electric Vehicle production.


 Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the procurement activities for Facilities and Services, utilising robust and objective sourcing processes and working with budget holders to meet commercial objectives in a cost and time sensitive manner.
  • Leading the tender processes to select suppliers, reviewing against capability, cost, quality and sustainability measures and liaising with Group counters parts for synergies
  • Driving cost discipline back into the business through early Stake holder engagement and planning.
  • Delivering against key measures of success, including Budget Cost reductions, Group Synergy activities and adherence to Purchase Process. 
  • Representing the purchasing department in cross functional meetings and across the VW Group, ensuring compliance to the procurement process and recommending improvements to processes and ways of working to maximise efficiencies.


About the Person

The successful candidates will have previous experience as a Buyer, Procurement or Purchasing professional working in a commercial or manufacturing environment (ideally) with ownership of the procurement process within general purchase in a challenging environment. The ‘ideal’ candidate will have automotive or OEM experience and be familiar with vehicle commodity attributes though other industries will be considered.   


You will demonstrate:  

  • Experience of supplier management including supplier selection, contract negotiation and supplier performance
  • Experience of delivering against key metrics and critical paths
  • Ability to communicate and influence with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to present in high level meetings
  • Delivery focussed with a collaborative approach towards internal stakeholders, supply partners and global VW Group colleagues
  • Automotive experience combined with the CIPS qualification would be advantageous
