Purpose of the Role
Join the world class UX/UI team as an Audio Systems Engineer where you will be a key stakeholder in the development of future audio systems for all Bentley vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for audio and a deep understanding of the latest technologies. Reporting into the Functional Manager – Audio & Comms your main responsibilities include;

 

      1.   Sound System Development:

       • Design, implement, and optimize in-car audio systems

       • Collaborate with premium audio brands to develop high-quality sound systems tailored for Bentley vehicles

     2.   Acoustic Tuning:

       • Perform acoustic testing and validation of the Audio system,  also support in the tuning activities for the development of the vehicle

       • Address challenges such as road noise, vibration, and cabin acoustics to maintain clarity and balance

     3.   Collaboration with Design and Engineering Teams:

       • Work closely with interior design teams to integrate audio components seamlessly into the vehicle without compromising aesthetics

       • Ensure compatibility with electrical and software systems

     4.   Innovation and Technology Integration:

       • Research and implement cutting-edge audio technologies such as 3D surround sound, Immersive audio, active noise cancellation, or personalized sound zones

       • Stay ahead of industry trends to incorporate new advancements in luxury car audio

     5.   User Experience Enhancement:

       • Ensure that the audio system is intuitive, user-friendly, and meets the expectations of Bentley’s high-end clientele

       • Feature and functional requirements to be created and managed to support the Attribute targets of the vehicle

     6.   Group partner collaboration:

       • Collaboration with VW group counterparts to share and make use of Platform/module technologies to develop Bentley unique audio systems

 

About the Team

The world class UX/UI teams sits within Electrical Engineering & the Research and Development space at Bentley, collaborating heavily with the design team. This team is responsible for delivering multi-sensory experiences for our luxury product range.

Our dynamic and agile team is responsible for crafting luxury UX for Bentley's present and future vehicles, from the initial sketch to the final software delivery. Our work spans the whole UX spectrum from – graphics & interaction design to interior lighting, sound and software.

About you – Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of Audio acoustic solutions. You will be well versed within the study of sound waves and how they interact with objects / materials. Strong understanding of digital signal processing (DSP). Your background will be ideally within automotive or similar. A degree or equivalent engineering experience is required for all engineering roles.

  • Bachelor's degree in audio engineering or a related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive audio industry
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing (DSP)
  • Experience with in-vehicle acoustic measurements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of audio system design for Automotive
  • A2B/Ethernet audio system communication
