Purpose of the Role
Join Electrical Engineering as the Technical Manager-Diagnostic Protocols & Technologies
 where you'll be responsible for ensuring delivery of Diagnostic systems and processes to ensure complete technical and business support, and play a pivotal role in Electrical Architecture and Networks working towards the Beyond100 strategy. Reporting into the Functional Manager for Electrical Architecture and Networks responsibilities include;

  • Technical authority for Vehicle Diagnostic Systems and process
  • Application of protocol specifications, functional specifications and physical layer specifications.
  • Supporting budget requirements for the Diagnostic systems team
  • Maintaining specialist knowledge in the area of vehicle diagnostics
  • Developing strategic technical direction with in the specialist area of Diagnostics

 

About the Team
You will play an exciting part in the Electrical/Electronic Engineering department within the Research and Development function at Bentley. We are responsible for all the electrical and electronic infrastructure and platform onto which the customer facing features are built – including wiring, mechanical integration, embedded computers, and data networking/architecture, and some of the features themselves. 

 

About you – Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have experience of providing technical direction to develop the strategic plan and experience of Diagnostic systems and related parts/systems/sub-systems.

You will demonstrate:

  • Influencing skills and communication skills that can be used to build positive relationships with other functions and the team
  • Ability to share technical knowledge effectively with others, support and guide as appropriate to ensure deliverables can be met
  • A proven knowledge of Diagnostic Systems/Tools and processes, and practical experience of development of such systems
  • In depth knowledge of UDS & KWP diagnostic protocols
  • Good working knowledge of ODX/PDX data formats, including a detailed understanding of the conversion process between ODX formats and the toolchains used to develop, create and modify data
  • Previous experience to develop and execute test process steps in order to validate ODX and PDX data prior to release (at differing release levels of data)
  • Awareness of, and an ability to extract relevant information from the various ISO/SAE standards and apply to Bentley applications
  • Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience
